GU Patrol

Our 3.0l TD GU Patrol is a September 2000 build, automatic, and is stock standard except for the BFG All Terrain tyres. It was a "demo model" (3000k on the clock) and was fitted with a ARB Sahara bull bar, driving and fog lights, tow bar, tinted windows, floor mats etc. Better still the price was just too good to refuse.

Accessories

False floor & Cargo BarrierFalse Floor & Cargo Barrier.
Blue bag on Cargo barrier contains "recovery gear" and other essentials like leather gloves, WD40, pressure gauge, screw drivers, spanners, shifters, spare fuses, etc. etc. Black box on Cargo Barrier is 12/240v inverter. Plugs from the Dual battery system can be seen on the lower left corner.

Engel Fridge on Fridge slideFridge Slide.

Fridge Slide for an Engel 39 litre Fridge/Freezer Cable down the front of the protective/insulating bag is to a thermometer which gives a guide to the internal temperature.

Tail Lights.
I have had aftermarket body Tail, Turn and Reversing Lights fitted. Also to protect the bumper lights I have had bars welded to the tow bar and braced in a couple of spots for extra strength.  The passenger side bar goes over the exhaust pipe so the exhaust system can still be dropped easily. Departure angle has only been marginally affected as the bars are above the bottom of the tow bar.

Update on our GU Patrol

At 80,000km on the "clock" (Dec 2005) I needed to replaced the BF Goodrich A/T tyres that I had since I picked up the vehicle. They were probably good for another 10K around town but I felt they were a bit thin for Victorian High Country driving. At the same time I had a 2" lift done which was well overdue as the rear end had sagged. When ARB Northern had finished the lift, which included new firm springs, sway bar extension, air bags on the rear, the back of the Patrol had come up 4". At the same time I replaced the damaged side steps with ARB side steps and had a Warn HS9500 winch fitted into the bull bar
